Dr Asante
Dr Asante completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at the University Of Pretoria in 2008. After completing his internship and community service at Witbank and Mamelodi Hospital respectively, he began his specialist training as a resident in general surgery at the prestigious Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (formerly Medunsa) under the auspices of Professor Zach Koto.
Fellow of the College of Surgeons
Dr Asante became a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of South Africa FCS (SA) in 2017. He has a special interest in advanced minimally invasive surgery in Upper Gastrointestinal, Colorectal, Bariatric, and complex hernia surgery. He also has a keen interest in diagnostic and interventional endoscopic procedures for both upper and lower gastrointestinal pathologies.
Dr Asante has previously worked in the public sector as a specialist and Head of Department of General surgery at Thelle Mogoerane regional hospital, where he was in charge of undergraduate and postgraduate training of medical students and surgical residents from the University of Witwatersrand.
